His expertise in maximizing both efficient use of studio time and creative experimentation was very helpful as I was afraid that those things would be in tension with one another. I experienced him as both a disciplined professional and a curious, enthusiastic musician. He was willing to do everything from facilitate creative decisions about harmony and timbre to make sure that we ate lunch. He also wrote the string parts for the record that included a long instrumental interlude where the strings, playing without the rest of the band, captured the mood of the record and the melancholy of the lyrical themes. It is a highlight of the record in my opinion. I would highly recommend Aaron's expertise, professionalism, musicianship, and general attitude.
